The year 2011 is nearing its end and various digital forecasts have already been surfacing. So what are the biggest digital innovations that we can expect to see in the coming year? More advanced gadgets and better digital media emerge almost every year and the same will happen in 2012.
I am so excited to know what kind of digital innovations will be surfacing next year. To give each one of us a good idea, here are some of the digital innovations that we will likely be able to take advantage of when 2012 comes.
Touch screen interface will still remain a mega-trend in 2012. More touchscreen smartphones will flood the market, but this time they will offer better and more state-of-the-art features. Companies such as Samsung and LG will introduce touchscreen smartphones that come with upgraded features, bigger memory and faster processor.
By 2012, televisions will be available almost everywhere. We can now view our favorite tv show on our tablet, laptop and even on our phone. Although this is not really a new digital innovation, the year 2012 will allow tv capability embedded in every available gadget. If this really becomes a reality, then I will never miss an episode of my favorite tv show even when I am away from home.
Tablet PCs will have a strong hold at the market as more models are slated to be released next year. People will definitely go gaga over the new table PC offerings particularly the techie-savvy individuals. These amazing gadgets have set a new trend and will likely defeat laptops in terms of portability. In fact, it is being predicted that the sale of tablet PCs will surpass that of netbook by 2012. This trend is made possible by the consumer’s tendency to opt for lighter, sleeker but very functional gadgets. Tablet PCs for 2012 will be carrying upgraded chips that will allow them to outperform laptops. And because of this, it is highly likely that tablet PCs might replace them in the near future. I can’t wait to hear about the specifications that will be offered by the new and upgraded tablet PCs next year. I would love to have my hands on one, that is, if they come with a reasonable price tag, which I highly doubt.
Electronic gadgets equipped with wi-fi capability will triple by next year. Digital TV is yet another innovation that will come to mobile phones by 2012. In addition, wi-fi equipped devices and gadgets are said to carry much lower price tags and will also feature more robust batteries.
